Default accent 2005

Hi I'm new.
Wasn't sure how to even get on to ask this question.
I just do city driving, like to the store and back about 40 or 45 miles a hour.
Should the OD light on mydash say off, or should nothing be there.
I am learning something new every day about this car. I traded in a dodge dynasty.
I have a hatch back and I keep the back seats down .
The first thing I had to buy was some kind of net partition to hold the grocery bags upright.
I like the way it drives. Almost like a toy.
You might say this is my new toy......
Thanks

Hello New Mom: Welcome to the forums...
There shouldn't be any lights on your dashboard while your driving down the road..that OD light means that your transmission is in over drive..if I remember right..release the little button on the stick lever thats on the side of that stick..

See if that helps , if not see the dealer and they will show you what Im talking about:

Yes when I press the button the message goes off the dash.
Now this would indicate that OD is on.
I don't think that I would need to have theoverdrive on with my slow city driving.

Thanks , I have a long way to go.
I find it all very confusing with the on off and the light being lite or the dash dark.
I will take your advise and say it is safe for me to go 2 miles down the road to Walmart and no light should appear in my dash. That's easy.
Thank You

As a second thought sometimes I wonder if I should be behind a steering wheel at all.
