I just got a '06 Sonata LX recently and I've had the Escort Passport 8500. I was wondering if any of you have radars and if you hard wired it, and if so, how? I tried opening up the map light compartment, but I don't want to splice anything just yet.

i too have the LX w/ the escort passport x50 and have the hardwire adapter. i dont see any feasible place to mount it so i'm using the lighter plug on the right and wiring the wire up the right side of the radio - the knob on the right keeps it in place pretty nicely. let me know if you find a good location to put the hardwire.

i can get the wiring diagrams from design tech to show you what wires do what etc...... (constant power/acc power/door locks etc)
