I own an 2002 Accent L. There are zero bells and/or whistles. My car does not have power windows, does not have power locks, no alarm, no remote access, heck it even has manual transmission.
That being said, I went to my neighborhood Mom-and-Pop hardware store down the street to make a spare/extra key for it. The hardware guy refused to make me a spare. He said even if he made one, it wouldn't work because of the key transponder. I told him that the kid did not have a transponder, and yes, a new key would work in my car. He insisted it had a transponder.
So my question is, who is right? Does the 2002 Accent L with no alarm, no power anything have a transponder in the key?
