2005 hyundai santa fe 3.5
#2
Wont start...
Where do we start ?
1 - key in ignition, turn key, no dash lights
2 - turn key, dash lights, no crank
3 - turn key, cranks, but no fire
Had 3.5 yesterday with no compression, wires and coils had burn marks, suspect ignition voltage leak, washed cylinders with gasoline.. got it to light a fire, belched a load of smoke.. replaced plugs, wires, 3 coils, and an oil change.

would the fuse link for starter have anything to do with the car not starting or cranking

The starter might be dead. First thing to try: have a helper sit in the car, make sure the transmission is in PARK (or neutral in a manual) and their foot is on the brake. Then while they turn the key you tap the starter with a hammer. If the starter turns then the starter is bad. If it doesn't turn then check the voltage on the battery cable at the starter and also check the voltage of the wire that activates the starter while the key is in the START position.
