Advisability Of Using Amsoil
Have 09 Sonota SE with about 700 miles on it (4 cyl and automatic). Thinking of using Amsoil at first oil change at 3000 miles. Hesitant to because I don't want to do anything to void my warranty. Anyone using Amsoil in a Hyundai that's still under warranty and what's been your experience warranty-wise?

RE: Advisability Of Using Amsoil
Over at www.elantraclub.com you can see a few posts about Amsoil in my cars. 2003 Elantra GTs.
I own two Elantra's one for my wife and one for myself. My wife and I are chronically bad oil changers, so I figured given how bad we are I'd at least use the best oil I could and went with Amsoil. We each use Amsoil oil and filters and change them one a year. That means 12 months/10,000km for my wife 12 months/26000-32000km for myself.
We've been a couple years with no problems and my mechanic says our oil looks used when it comes out but has no special remarks about it looking especially bad. We've talked about having the oil tested but never have.
I recently (last week), wrecked my old Elantra GT but have a 2007 Elantra now and will be using Amsoil again in it. We've found through the course of the year we burn very little oil and I don't know if that's just luck or something we can attribute to Amsoil.
So I give Amsoil 2 thumbs up and swear by it. I don't even find it more expensive then any other top end synthetic.

RE: Advisability Of Using Amsoil
Oh and I checked and Amsoil doesn't violate the warranty but going 1 year between changes if they find out will give them a reason to cancel the warranty on anything they can blame on the oil. Until the warranty is out I recommend either doing the changes more in line with warranty requirements or at least filling out a log book so it appears you've been doing changes.
