The inside door handles on both the front drivers side and front passenger side are not longer working. When I pull them nothing happens and I have to open the window to use the exterior door handle to get out.

This started happening today and I first thought it might be a rod in the door that was broken... but for both of them to go out at the same time?

Any thoughts?

2002 Sonata

 

behind the door panel there are loacting tracks that the lock and the door handle rods run through, if the rod has popped out of this track it could have to much free play and therefore not pull on the lock
