My wife has a 2005 XG350, which she loves. Most recently it has developed a problem with the door chime and the dome light. When you brake or sometimes hit a bump the door chime gongs a couple of times and the dome light comes on briefly. I don't have a schematic on the car so any help would be greatly appreciated on running this trouble down. Thanks

 

The first place I would inspect are the door jamb switches. I am guessing one of them is worn to the point that it shorts when the car is jossled, which makes the car think the door is open momentarily. Start with the drivers door, since it likely gets the greatest use (and abuse).
