Default Installing an interior heater question

I have 05 Elantra and was wondering if anyone knows where I might find an access openings through the firewall to run a power cable for an interior car warmer.

Please email me at pete@reginalibrary.ca

Thanks.

I would caution you about the load this puts on the battery/charge system.
Todays cars do warm up much more better than say 20 to 30 years ago. Thank to the EPA and clean air and all regs.

What about a remote car starter and some syn oil?

Good luck with this

Bikeman2's email address indicates he is from Canada. I beleive Bikeman2 is referring to the type of heater that plugs into a standard 120V AC socket. Along with a block heater, these are fairly common up north where the daytime high may only reach -20F in the depth of winter.

Your right Ken, I do in fact live in Canada. The prairies to be exact.. which can be the coldest place on earth in January. I was able to find what I was looking for by searching this forum using the keyword 'firewall'. A gentleman who installed fog lights on his Elantra posted some excellent pics on wiring from the passenger compartent to the front of the engine.

Pete
