Default Want to know

My check engine light is on. Auto Zone ran diagnostics and it has something to do with my TRAnsaxle range switch. Open or short circuit conditions or poor electrical connection.. What to do next is this costly or doues this usually fall under warranty, It is a 2007 SonataGLS with 68.000 miles.

Did you write down the code number?

Sounds like it's under warranty. Call the dealer and ask them.

po 700 is what the man from autozone wrote down.

P0700 is a general code, you should get another code more specific. Unless you get another code, it's almost impossible to diagnose this as "TRAnsaxle range switch. Open or short circuit conditions or poor electrical connection":

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction

Did the Autozone guy reset the system so the "check engine" light went off? If not, pull of the negative battery cable for 10 minutes and reset the system yourself. See if the code appears again.
