Default Wireharness

Last week some one stole my radio from my 99 Hyundai Sonatta, They did such a wonderful job they pulled the factory wireharness right from my car. Does anyone know where I can get a factory wireharness? I mean the one that plugs directly in to the stock radio.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. My guess would be either a Hyundai dealer (expensive) or a local junkyard. You might also find something on eBay. Good luck with that.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I assume you mean the thieves simply cut off the wires below the male connector that plugs into the stock radio. A company called "Scosche" makes car radio harness pigtails that are direct replacements for the male end plugins on the car's harness (they call them reverse harnesses). Goto:

http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../158/sfID3/178

for pages and pages of them. I did a quick check and found this one:

http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../productID/601

which fits 2000+ Sonatas & Accents. I also found this one:

http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../productID/599

for 1992+ Hyundai cars. Either will likely work (they look the same or similar). The wires on the pigtail need to be matched up to the wires in the dash and then either crimped or soldered together. If you also order the counterpart female pigtail, you can easily wire up any aftermarket radio that will fit the dash...and easily remove it if you decide to get rid of the car. I wish you luck.

Thanks for all the info; I found a cheap factor wire harness on eBay last night. It seems they were listed under OEM harnesses. My next question, where can I locate a wiring diagram? I know the striped ones are speakers yellow power, but it seems I am still missing a ground wire somewhere. They did a number when ripping the radio out.

Here are a couple of threads where radio connections are discussed, including some graphics indentifying the wire layout and colors. These are for 00 through 04 Sonatas, but I think Hyundai has been consistent with the basic radio wiring scheme for sometime.

P.S. Your 99 Sonata is a "EF" variant, the same as the 2000 through 2004. The above links should be directly applicable.
