08 Accent GS CB Radio Install
I havent been on in a while. Figured I would post up my recent install.
I just finished installing my Cobra 29LTD Classic w/ Wilson Little Wil antenna.
Works great in here. Only complaint is ignition noise. I need to install a noise surpressor.
I still need to tuck the coax cable under panels and hard wire the power. I am waiting on another pigtail to come in before I do that cause I want to keep the cig lighter adaptor for my 18 wheeler when I do runs to Indy.

cool man.... This makes me want to finish my thoughts about installing mine too! I have an older RANGER 10m clip'd for 11m use, with a pair of (similar to ) Monkey Made coil ants and a BOOMER 250w... I know right? This setup that I just described use to be in my Dakota until a grounding issue would turn on my wipers each time I keyed the mic with NO heat on!! CrAzY huh? FINALLY I uninstalled all equipment bcuz it was really starting to screw with the CPU and would turn my truck OFF at stoplights and or cut power while driving down the road.... hehehe Are you in Illinois or Mo.? Those apartments look VERY familiar... PM that answer if you want to!
ENGINE NOISE, start by making SURE that you have grounded the radio! Make sure that ur engine IS (properly) grnded to the frame, make sure that you have the CORRECT fuses inline and also in the fuse block... There are filters that we can use, but they are not always the answer. Ive tried just about every noise filter on the market to no avail... The xperts tell me that GROUNDING was the key and the length of coax and how close the Ant was to the CPU of the vehicle... Winter is about half over here in east central illinois, and I usually mess with the radios during this time, but farming kept me pretty busy late this year so I havnt jawed too much
