09 Accent, had to hook up +12V to the pink wire for AM to work?
My dad has an 09 Accent for commuting. It had a Pioneer stereo installed. It never got any AM stations.
I figured the power antenna wire was simply not spliced. It was verified they connected it.
Then I did a bit of research. Found out about the pink wire, but then found out the adapter jumpered the blue and pink. Found out in other makes the factory antenna needs +12V and many remote turn on wires really don't feed that.
Did a test jumper from +12V accessory power to the pink and it worked perfectly!
Is this normal or is something wrong?
This car was ordered without a factory stereo if that matters.
