Default 1995 Accent long to warm up

My accent 95 takes 3 miles to reach its operating temperature in winter (-9°F).
It's too long compared to my Windstar which take only 1.5 miles.
It happens to all Hyundai Accent, or it's a problem?

Also, my heater it's not enough warm, even at max fan speed and max temperature ****.
It's normal for a car like that?

My temperature gauge is at 1/4.
What should be the normal engine temperature for this car?

The coolant level is good.
Do I need to replace my thermostat, or it's normal for this car?

I can't tell you if is normal or not for this car to take longer to worm up, since never had one but if the thermostat is stuck in open then most likely in the windows your car will never get to the normal operating temperature, specially if you drive on the highway.
How i would check it is after 2-3 minutes touch the water hose and see if is worm, it should not be since the thermostat should be closed until the engine is at normal temperature.

I do your test, and the hose is hot. While the temp gauge is still on Cold.
So I need to replace my thermostat.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I just removed my thermostat today, and I realized that is closed. So it is good.
So when I told you that my hose was hot, it was because the engine's heat radiate on the hose.
The hose is very close (2") from the engine, it's why it's hot too.

My thermostat is good. And I use the recommended coolant (50% antifreeze/50% water).
There's nothing I can do to heat my car faster?

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to block the about 75% of the airflow. It won't overheat as long as it's winter.
