ENGINE AND TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLYREMOVAL[/align]
1. Remove the battery.[/align]
Make sure jacks and safety stands are placed properly and hoist brackets are attached to the correct position on the engine.[/align]
Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surface.[/align]
2.Detach the air cleaner.[/align]
3.Disconnect the backup lamp and engine harness connectors.[/align]
4.Disconnect the engine ground.[/align]
5.Disconnect the alternator connector.[/align]
6.Disconnect the connectors for the rear Oxygen sensor harness and the ignition coil harness.[/align]
7.Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor and No.1 TDC sensor connector.[/align]
8.Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.[/align]
9.Remove the main fuel line and the return and vapor hoses form the engine side.[/align]
To reduce the residual pressure in the hoses, refer to Group Fuel System "Fuel filter replacement."[/align
]10.For vehicles with automatic transaxles, disconnect transaxle oil cooler hoses.[/align]
When disconnecting the hoses, make identification marks to avoid making mistakes when reconnecting them.[/align]
Be caurful not to spill oil or fluid from hoses, plug the openings to prevent foreign material from entering.[/align]
11.Drain the engine coolant from the radiator.[/align]
12.Disconnect the radiator upper and lower hoses on the engine side, then remove the radiator assembly.[/align]
13.Disconnect the heater hoses (inlet and outlet) on the engine side.[/align]
14.Disconnect the accelerator cable at the engine side.[/align]
15.For vehicles with 5-speed manual transaxles, remove the clutch release cylinder.[/align]
