2003 Accent & Starting Problems
Hello all - I've been lurking around the forums quite a bit and decided to finally register and post. I've been having some serious weather related starting problems with my girlfriend's '03 Accent.
Basically, the past two years the car will randomly not start when temperatures are in the sub-35 degree range. Battery works fine, just the fuel pump will not kick on and allow the car to start. Had it to the dealership who couldn't duplicate the problem (of course) - as well as a local mechanic who couldn't figure out what could be causing it.
Long story short, spent a lot of time searching online and eventually decided to replace the engine relay behind the dash, as well as the CKP sensor. The car hasn't had the same problem since, however, since I replaced the CKP the car has been running really rough. It is louder than normal and has a definite chaff sound coming from the exhaust. On occasion, the check engine light will come on and produce a P0336 code, which I looked up to see is CKP related.
When replacing the CKP, is it just a simple swap - or did I miss any kind of calibration? If it's any help, I replaced it with the one shown here
Thanks in advance for any help! The forum has provided tons of insight so far
