Default 2008 Accent Faulty Key Remote

Hi all,
I hope someone can give me some idea as to what my problem might be.
I have a 2008 Accent sedan and recently I have intimittant problems unlocking my car using the key remote.
The light on the remote comes on, but the doors do not unlock. If i unlock the car manually with the key the alarm goes off and i cannot switch it off. I have taken the battery out of the remote and i am getting a 1.4V reading on a 1.5v battery so they battery in the remote is still good.

Could it be a dirty or fauly remote pickup? if so where is this located.

Look forward to your help.

Cheers
Tim

Take it back to the dealer. Covered under the 5y/50k mile bumper to bumper warranty.

Sometimes a battery will read good voltage until you place a load on it. Consider trying a new battery in the remote.
