'99 Accent Exhaust Manifold

'99 Accent Exhaust Manifold
I have a cracked exhaust manifold and my mechanic took out the cracked one and tried to replace it with a '98 and it did not fit.
Are the manifolds from the 1999-2002 Accent compatible with each other?
Is it best to find a junk yard and just take one out of there?
Or should I find a welder to repair it?
A new part is over $500 and I know I can find a used one somewhere cheaper... way cheaper. Please help so I know which models to seek to take this part out... Thanks!

Yes, the 1998 manifold is significantly different from the '99. You could get one from the junkyard, but then there's the problems with the CAT too. A lot of times the CAT bolts are all rusted up, or the CAT itself is toast.
The 99 manifolds had this problem with cracking, so I wouldn't get one from the junkyard. The Elantra RD model was only made until 2000, so that means you'd have to find one from '99 or '00. I wouldn't expect the Accent manifold to fit.
I'd buy this manifold + CAT from eBay for around $190:
