Default Accent Beta Swap

Ok, I have been reading a lot about people swapping the Elantra/Tiburon engine into their Accents, and this is something I want to do as well. My 2001 Accent is on its third transmission in only 90K miles and I don't beat on the car. The engine is seriously lacking in power, and I am dying to change it. But most of what I have read is on the x3 Accents (95-99), and not on the LC's (2000-03), like mine. Does anyone know if the motor from a 2000-03 Elantra/Tibby will fit in my Accent? I have the 1.6L DOHC, MAP sensor-based. I would also like to know if anyone knows if the A/C can be rerouted to still work following the beta swap. The idea of having no A/C doesn't really appeal to me...lol. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Default RE: Accent Beta Swap

Try http://betaswapshop.com/. The site is apparently dormant, but the links it contains appear to be active. I think I have read swapping a 2.0 liter Beta into an Accent sacrifices the A/C unit, but that may have been a particular application since creature comforts are usually not high on the priority list among those that make these sort of modifications.
