I hope you are keeping tabs on the oil level in your vehicle's engine. If allowed to go down too low , $$$$ engine or internal parts.

There are several places where oil can leak out and the trick is to make sure the real cause is found and corrected.
You might ask your friend how he determined the leak was coming from the valve cover., which could be accurate, but evidentially the real cause was not repaired.
Sometimes it can be a major job like oil pan gaskets or it could be something small like an oil pressure sending unit. If you can, consider having someone else look it over and make sure it is engine oil and not some other lubricant.

Do a visual inspection of the valve cover
Look at the place where the valve cover and the valve head meet
Can you see oil trail?

Place cardboard under vehicle and look at the spot where it is coming down
Follow trail of oil to source if you can
