Default Brake Fluid Leak

I noticed that my brake fluid was leaking slowly and for the longest time couldnt find where it was coming from. Today i took apart the passenger drum brake and the thing was full of fluid all over everything, I doubt the brake could even function cause the pads had a good layer of it on them, etc. I just want to know if its the caliper like thing leaking or it could be coming from somewhere else. Also does anyone know the cost to have something like that replaced? Thanks

Default RE: Brake Fluid Leak

I have 2002 hyundai accent that had a similar issue. there was leaking brake fluid. Rear passenger brake cylinder required replacement and system needed to be bleeded. if there is fluid everywhere, it seems like a resurfacing of shoes and drums if not a total replacement might be a good idea. ( Im not a mechanic, just telling you what they recommended to me).

He's right.
You have a blown wheel cylinder.
Not a hard fix at all.
You should'nt have to resurface or replace the drums though, just spray em down with some brake cleaner.
