Default Break in - max speed question

My owner's manual says not to exceed 55 mph for the first 1200 miles butgoing only 55 on some Dallas freeways willhave a lot of folks giving you the horn (or worse).

I am assuming that the owner's manual applies to both the 4spd auto and 5spd manual transmissions and would probably have been written to preventexceeding a certain engine RPM.

The specs show that the 5spd has a 5th gear ratio of 0.837 and a final drive ratio of 4.056.The auto's 4th gear ratiois 0.685 and final drive is 4.041.Does this mean that the engine of the automatic transmission vehicle turns only 81% as fast as the manual trans vehicle when both arein their highest gear? If so, does this mean that the auto trans vehicle would have the same engine RPM at 67mph as the manual trans vehicle would at 55 mph?

Would it be OK if I drive up to 67 mph for short distances on the freeways?

I wouldn't worry about that. Going easy on a new car is not as important as it once was. I always follow the rule: break a car in the way you intend to drive it regularly.

Thanks Novaresource for your help.

I'll drive up to 67 when when on the Dallas freeways. Did I do the math correctly when I calculated that the 4spd Auto's engine turns up only 81% of the5spd manual's engine RPM when both arein their highest gear and both are traveling at the same speed?
