Default car quits while running...

I have a 2002 Accent, having an issue with it quitting while I am driving it, have replaced the Crank Position Sensor, and it is still doing the same thing. It may start again after a few attempts, or it may not.

According to the mechanic he can't find any reason why it would be doing what it is doing as nothing shows up on the computer diagnostics...

It has been suggested that it is the Ignition relay sensor (which may or may not show up on the computer diagnostics) or possibly a fuel filter problem as suggested by the owners manual.

Would appreciate any help that can be given to resolve this issue.

You need to describe your problem a little better. Does it cough and sputter when it dies? Or does it shut off like somebody turned off a switch? Is there any logic to it like happens when its hot or cold? Fuel filter is always a good thing to change.

It does not cough or sputter when it dies, it just shuts off like you turned a switch. No real logic to it at all, car is not over heating, you may be able to drive all day before it happens, or you may only be able to drive for a few minutes...it may quit a number of times during the day or it may not quit at all.

How was the sensor replaced? By a dealerships using a Hyundai Genuine part, by yourself or by an independent mechanic using an aftermarket part. There have been threads on the forum where using an aftermarket replacement crankshaft rotation sensor did little to resolve the problem. The sensors are good, but the bolt supplied with the new sensor is either the wrong length or is improperly threaded to secure the sensor correctly. Either re-using the original Hyundai bolt or getting a new bolt from the dealership solves the problem.

Sometimes it takes a number of "drive cycles" with a failing part or absolute failure to register a code.

It has been suggested that it is the Ignition relay sensor (which may or may not show up on the computer diagnostics) or possibly a fuel filter problem as suggested by the owners manual.
I would make sure the crankshaft sensor is working properly before chasing other sensors without error codes. If the fuel filter has never been changed, doing so now will not hurt.

It me some time, but I found the last thread discussing the bolt issue with a new crankshaft rotation sensor:

Good luck.
