Cold Weather Starting in Canada
My 2007 accent will not start if tempuratures go below -15 celcius. I can't seem to find engine block heater plug so I can plug the car in at night. Is this not a standard feature on this car? Help please!

No, block heaters are optional. You can get one here:

When I used to live in the cold north, during the winter I would try to keep the gas half tank or above to keep moisture out of the gas. I had a few cars that the fuel lines froze up. Have you tried adding a bottle of HEET to the gas, to remove any moisture that could be in the fuel system?

these days only add stuff to the gas tank if needed. where its colder, we get 'winter gas' where the gas companies add stuff like antifreeze to our fuel ahead of time. and our gas mileage sucks!!
no a block heater is optional, especially since we did away with the carburetor. i have one in my accent because it does actually help save a little bit of fuel and yeah its cold lol.
and as another accent driver in ontario, yesterday was bloody cold at 6am!!

Thanks for all the info. This is the only trouble I have had with my accent, thus far. However, getting stuck somewhere in the cold sucks really bad. I never had problems with my domestic made car starting in cold weather. I was able to plug in all my other vehicles when the extremely cold weather started. I was a little surprised when I could not find anywhere to plug my car in.

if you can afford the block heater, i find them a worthwhile investment even if only on the basis that your car warms up faster, uses the sensors fully faster and saves you a little fuel in that way. they're nice, but these days just an accessory.
