Default Just died

I was replacing a thermostat and running the engine to check for leaks. Ran great, as it always has, then it just stopped running, no hesitation, no sputtering just quit that quick. Now it wont start, wont even try to fire, if I spray starting fluid it sounds like it will try but wont start. Any ideas. I thought fuel pump, but would it just quit that fast. Maybe fuse? Any ideas will be helpful and appreciated

It's either been 45 minutes or an hour and 45 minutes since you posted. The engine has had time to cool down. Will it start now?

If the starter is turning the engine over, but you have no spark and no fuel, then it's likely the crankshaft rotation sensor has failed. They don't usually fail outright, but it is not unknown to happen either. And it wouldn't hurt to check all the fuses in both boxes.

P.S. I would stop using any more starting fluid. If the engine will not start with short blast of the stuff, then more is not going to help and you can cause more damage to the engine.

I was thinking fuel pump maybe just quit. What do you think the chance of that is. I pulled every fuse in both boxes and they all look good. That was my first thought cause of how it died instantly.
How do I check the crankshaft rotation sensor.
By the way thanks for your help
