Default More RPM,s with cruise control?

Ok so the only reason I bought a 2010 sport was because of cruise. Now I don't understand, is it normal for the RPM,s to stay about 400 more on cruise? And it is at any speed.

it shouldn't, cruise only holds the throttle cable. thats more like the A/C being on...

any reason you haven't asked the dealer you bought the car from? they'd know better than anyone here.

Is it an automatic transmission? I don't see how this would be possible on a manual...

Automatics usually have a lock-up torque converter. It locks during high speed cruise, in order to improve fuel economy. Perhaps the CC is somehow disengaging that feature, thereby causing the engine to have to rev a bit higher during CC usage.

I did some digging on hmaservice.com There is a TSB for 2010 accents for a tranny software update to address torque converter issues with cruise control. Sounds like my little theory may by true then... It's TSB #10-AT-012 The TSB was issued a month ago, so it sounds like it might be an easy fix.

The TSB is listing 0.3 hours labor (under warranty) so you should be able to get this fixed at the dealer quick and easy. Good luck!

PS Sign up for hmaservice.com It's free and it's Hyundai's web site. Tons of great free info, like tech service bulletins and shop manuals. I give major kudos to Hyundai for offering this resource to customers at no charge. Next time you have an issue, look there and you may find a TSB already for it...

^^ good find hondahirny. the stealership will update for free, if they don't they're being jerks. just go somewhere else and contact hyundai head office to let them know that someone isn't playing nice. probably not a lot will become of it, but what the hell right?

Yes, registering for hmaservice is a pain in the you know what... They claim you need Internet Explorer. Please use IE to register and it will work. Once registered, I've had luck with Firefox for browsing. I love that website, but the limited browser compatibility really sucks. Does anyone even use IE? I thought most people were on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and so on.

As far as the dealer that does sound like BS. I bet they're unaware of the TSB and just giving you garbage to make you go away. Make sure you specify the TSB number to the dealer and they should take care of it for free. If not, contact Hyundai main offices and get the dealer in trouble.

With your multiple posts, see the "edit" button on your post while you're logged into the board. You can edit and add to your post without making new ones.

BTW, i uploaded the TSB file in PDF format to my site, only because this forum has a crazy low file attachment limit. The tranny TSB is at Hyundai TSB 10-AT-012
