My 2000 needs TLC
Hello from up north.
I'm from simcoe ontario canada. I am starting to have problems with my beloved accent.
I am burning oil like crazy. and I was wondering if there was any way I could get rid of the
exsisting fuel filter and put in an inline filter. i am also experiencing a clunking from the front end while turning.
any advice or help would be appreciated.
thanks
Eric

These Accents are good for developing pan valve pan gasket leaks. Take a good look around here for oil loss. The front end clunk may be from a CV (Continuous Velocity) joint going bad. You want that looked at right away. As for the filter, I am not familiar enough with that set-up to help, sorry. Hope the rest helps out.

Hello there our Northern Friend!!
Poacher is right, that clunking sound is your CV joints. Don't put off that repair if at all practical. Depending on your mileage & engine condition, I'd take a shot at your valve guide seals. Does the vehicle smoke at all when starting from the tail end??
As for the fuel filter issue, I'm afraid you'll have to ask to a higher authority.
Good Luck,
Brant

The smoke might not be the head. And it is probably cheaper just to pick up a new head at a junkyard. It might be your piston rings. I suggest buying a can of RESTORE engine oil for your next chang. It is supposed to help repair damaged cylinder walls and improve compression.
