Default No check engine light on ignition.

I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent 1.3 and just recently I've encountered an issue on ignition. I have noticed that the check engine light does not illuminate on start up and the engine refuses to start, but on the rare occasion it does illuminate, the engine fires up as expected.

Leading up to this problem I have changed the plugs and HT leads as well as cleaning the ISA as the car was misfiring.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you.

Acts like the ECM is off line when the ignition is turned on. Likely pulled something loose when you did the tune up. I would start by check for loose wires in harness connectors or loose connectors in the harness around the area you were working. This also could easily be a single ground wire that's loose as well.

Default Check engine light not on.

I've checked all the wiring around the area I was working and all seems fine, no lose connectors.
The check engine light refuses to come on during start up, but I have noticed that the fuel pump does not switch on with the ignition lights either. The engine does turn over, but without the fuel pump it isn't firing.

Any ideas would be great,Thank you

What motor do you have? Hyundai's service site http://www.hmaservice.com/ shows a 1.5L SOHC and a 1.6L DOHC motor for 2002.

At any rate the ECU must have power as it turns on the fuel pump relay. I would check fuses going to ECU power.

Default No immobiliser light or MIL light

Since the last time I spoke, the car has been in the garage and has left the mechanic scratching his head.this problem is intermittent but seems more prominent in the wet, when turning on the ignition lights the check engine light is not on but neither is the immobiliser light. The fuel pump does not kick start, this causes the car to turn over but not fire. When the ignition does show these lights working the car starts first time and runs, but has a tendency to cut out sometimes for a split second sometimes longer.I believe either a relay has faulted, the immobiliser or a sensor has malfunctioned.

Any help would be brilliant as my girlfriend and I are both physically disabled and need the car.
Thank you.

do you have scan de car??? i realy think is the power relay the relay is on your feet close to the door (driver side) at the plant sensor are instaled in wrong way that cause humidity go in sensor and the relay **** relay cost around 40$ and take 5 min to change

scan you cars and you will problably have around 25 fault code like o2 sensor etc this sensor control fuel pump o2 sensor etc is why your car don't start

if is that when you change the sensor don't forget to ask your mecanic to instal sensor in go way

I had a problem like that once and the first thing that I did was to look for the electrical diagram circuit (mitchel CD's) could be a lot of help. Another thing that sometime we over look would be a fuse holder corrosion or perhaps you had a rat chew up a wire or main colume SW pwr. conector gets loose or SW it's self could go bad. besides many other small details. I hope you could find out whats going on. just some tips that might help out.

Can I start by thanking everyone who read and commented on my problem,I have found the fault after eight weeks of scratching my head. When the rain fell into the vents, outside, under your windscreen it worked its way through the body and ended up dripping out of a tiny hole in the engine bay, a factory weld just above the brake servo on the passengers side, straight onto the wiring harness tucked underneath it, it corroded one tiny wire enough to short it against the body of the car everytime it rained. It rained the other day and the car failed to start, after looking again for the hundredth time, we noticed this tiny drip, looking more closely we saw the tell tale signs of green residue from corroded copper against the body.

Thank you once again for all your good ideas.
