Default Spy shots of next hyundai accent/verna?

Yesterday I was up in Death Valley and encountered and photographed two groups of Hyundai prototypes. The first was easy to identify. It was the mid-cycle refresh of the Genesis but it seemed that one version had a slightly different look, indicating that Hyundai might be coming out with a high performance M5-type version.

The other was what appeared to be a subcompact 5-door that was heavily cloaked.

At first I had no idea of what I was looking at but quickly getting an internet connection I think that I was able to identify it as the 2012/2013 Accent/Verna. Am I correct?

Since the people here know a lot more about Hyundai's future product plans I invite you to visit my blog and leave comments, properly identifying what I shot yesterday.

Thanks,

That's not the new Accent/Verna. We already know what that it like and that's not it. The first tip off is the car you saw has 5-lug wheels. The Accent/Verna has 4-lug wheels. See sedan pics here: https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=8234

Accent/Verna hatchback spy pics:

What you saw was a totally new, 6-passenger mini-minivan like the Mazda5. The Hyundai HED-5 I-Mode Crossover.

Production car (Notice the dip in the rear window (as in the Genesis Coupe) that's not in the Accent pictured above):

Thanks, I'll update my blog. This would make sense as there was a Mazda5 parked nearby as I recall.

Notice Hyundai's use of "5" in the name (Mazda5 - Hyundai HED-5). The HED-5 is based off the larger i30/Elantra Touring platform, not the smaller Accent/Verna. Hence the 5-lug wheels vs the Accent's 4-lugs.
