timing belt question
I have an 2002 accent with 108k. I got the 60k service and belt change at around 55k in 2005. I thought I read elsewhere I should get the belt done at 4 years- its now 5.5 years since my last change, but I am still under the miles. Do you think it is safe till I hit the 60k mark (around 115k) or should I get it in sooner based on time?

My guess is almost another year. Within the past year I only put 8k on her.
I got the 60k done at the dealership. They wanted 650 for the 120k service, which includes the timing belt and water pump, and some other things (guessing oil and tranny service) My tranny was serviced/flushed by the dealer at around 90k. I called one local guy who said it would be about 375-400 for the belt and water pump and an extra 100 if I wanted to replace my radiator hoses and thermostat. He then added that I may not even need the water pump done, so that could lower the price a little.
What other preventive things should I get?
(sorry I don't know much about car maintainence, I dont want to get ripped off but I also dont mind putting a little money in to maintaince because I would like to get at least 2-3 more years out of her.)

I took it into a local place today (great reviews online) for the timing belt, water pump, accessory belts (if needed) and they also suggested the thermostat and hoses for the radiator- so I'm going to do that as well. It should all come in under 550.
As a side note, I reviewed my records and thought I had the trans service at 60, but I saw a note (Hyundai dealer) that its not recommended till 100k on the receipt, so I didn't get it done. Then around 87k, the trans was shifting weird and they did the flush and it has been fine since then. Everything I read hear said that it should be done every 60k.

Yes, big difference in prices from the little shop on the corner. From what I hear, the automatics in these cars are sensitive to fluid changes. I would stick to 5 years/60k miles on transmission fluid changes, no matter what the driving conditions are.
