Default Transmission error code problems. 01 Accent LC

Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone could pls help me. I just got back from my local deal (I live in Australia) and We pulled off 3 codes that are really troubling me as I'm worried the tranny has or is about to die.

Codes where P0734, P0722, P0717

It mentioned "4th Gear Ratio Incorrect" - When i mentioned I'd done some research and was hoping it to be the Pulse Generators he said No, and that it'll be a mech prob with 4th gear AKA that it's killed itself or the clutch/band

Things started happening when driving home from easter with my wife.. was cruising around 100kmh when it felt like she started slipping (OD was ON).. i could feel the car rev up as if a clutch was engaged but lost physical power. I checked the fluid and it all seems fine, got car home and left it.

Drove to dealer today (60km round trip) with OD - "OFF", and the car seemed perfectly fine, did a test and turned OD "ON" and straight away she started slipping and playing up, turned it back off and have left it off.

I need this car to be running so any help anyone could give me I'd be eternally greatfull, I can't afford a tranny strip down and repair or replace so I'm hoping against hope it is the PG's or something easier and cheaper.

Thanks for reading this.

<EDIT>
Forgot to mention the Check Engine Light (MIL?) has NOT come on.. only comes on during initial startup then goes off.
</EDIT>

0722 - outout shaft speed sensor... this can aid in the bringing of the 0734, becuase shift not being completed in certain time frame.

0717 - input shaft speed sensor

2001 -- typically inspect output speed sensor, replace if fault.. either way, Hyundai has program to update the TCM for the 0722 code logic (been out long time)

Appears your repair will be a simple sensor set replace (they sold as pair wired to 1 coonnector,, and reprogram the TCM with #18 (USA) for VSS Noise.

Thanks for that mate, replied in the other forum as well but will ask you here too. Would those sensors failing cause it to physically slip?.. i'm pretty clueless with these things
