Default Atos-2001

Hi all ,

First off all already thnx for trying to help me out.

Here now the problem:

In free gear: Some kinda sound with accurs when i let the clutch come up hard
then it starts to tick. When i press the clutch again the ticking sound is gone.
Didn't drove yet just happened 10 min ago. If i let the clutch come up
gently and VERY slow it ticks really soft and almost not hearable.

Can anybody help me with this or give me hints to figure out what it is?

With kind regards ,

Hans Durville

You need to further isolated the source of the ticking. If it is coming from the bellhousing, I would suspect the throwout bearing. If it is coming from the engine block, a worn thrust bearing, failing rod bearing or possably a bad wrist pin could make such a sound. Take a short piece of heater or garden hose, hold one end against a good ear and then move the other end close to the bellhousing. See if you can zero in on the source of the ticking. Having the clutch replaced with a new throwout bearing would be the lesser of two evils.
