Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default 02 Elantra GT rear rotor/pad

Hi Guys,

I've got this vehicle from a month ago, so far so good.

And yesterday, i've tried to replace rear brake pad and found only right rear pad is very thin (2~3mm) but left pad is more than 5mm thick.
Also tried spinning rotors after rear jacked up, both right and left rotors spinning touching pad lightly once every turn.

I think there is something wrong with my rear rotor or pad.

I used to think my EGT has pretty soft brake, but someone can give an advice where to start?

I have replaced front rotor and pad when i bought this one but not rear.
And i don't have any vibrating issue when i brake on high or low.

Thanks in advance!

The pads are supposed to slightly touch the rotor because it helps displace water when driving in the rain.

Thanks Nova,

I never thought of that and makes sense,,,

How about uneven wearing between right and left?

It's not a good idea to rotate pads,,,i guess.

I will try ceramic one later on.

My guess is either one of the calipers is slightly dragging or possibly the emergency brake cable is slightly siezed. Make sure the sliders are propery cleaned and lubricated when replacing the pads.
