It really ain't that serious sweetie...all you had to do was copy and paste a link instead of going all over the internet finding pics to post trying to make yourself look good.

Anyone else have a water leak, I'm getting water running down the a-arm pillars inside the car and soaking the seats and floor mats? Please help ... where is it coming from?

Thanks Mick

Like what was said above, check the drain lines and seal of the sunroof.

If you don't have a sunroof then you have a leak at the top of the windshield or the seal around the door..

Well, almost a year later, I'm happy to report my water problem is fixed!

I was back for a fourth (and final!) time in March, when the service department completely removed, reinstalled the windshield, and sealed/caulked it up.

We've since had several rains, some very heavy, with no leakage.

It does seem that this is not an isolated incident with the Elantra (according to the service manager), so I'm a little annoyed that it took him this long to finally do the approved repair.

Now I'm back to being happy again with my little car!

Thanks to all of you who tried to help me with this.

You guys ROCK!!!

Hi Momcat,

It turned out that was the same problem that was causing the leak in my Elantra also. I think both of our service depts. probably knew it might have been the windshield causing the leak all along but they didn't wanna spend the extra money diagnosing it. I remember when I first brought the issue to their attention a year and a half ago one of the first things they asked me was if I had ever had the windshield replaced. Yet I had to take it back to them 3 times before they finally sent a windshield specialist out to look at it.

Oh, I definitely agree with you! I think they did indeed know what the problem was. Possibly they wanted to drag it out and collect the repair money from Hyundai as long as possible.

What I thought was real interesting was....after the first and second time, the service manager seemed very perplexed as to the problem. I believed him, then got to worrying about whether or not they'd be able to diagnose and fix this.

After he "fixed" the AC drain hoses twice and repaired the "pinhole" leak around the windshield (third trip), I asked him if he was aware of this Forum and mentioned others with the same problem and the solution. He casually said he knew there had been some problems with the windshields, and that he was now going to remove and re-install it.

I'm still very happy with the car, but not with the service.

I just hope some head honchos from Hyundai occasionally read the Forums to see what goes on in their dealerships.
