1995 Elantra Front Rotors
#2
This was an amateur's machine design laughable in its unnecessary complexity and difficulty to service. The front rotor is bolted to the hub with 4 bolts, lock washers, and nuts. These secure the rotor to the hub that has 4 separate, pressed-in wheel studs. To separate the rotor, you must remove the hub. The front hub is pressed into the spindle. A 3 jaw puller got the hub off and the large axle nut got it back on. The wheel bearing in the hub is pressed onto the shaft of the hub. These bearings do need to be packed with grease every now and then, but good luck getting them off. When people say Hyundai has come a long way, they cannot fathom the real truth in that statement.
