2013 Elantra defogger

2013 Elantra defogger
I recently bought a 2013 Elantra GLS. I turned on the front defogger during a rain storm but it will not turn off. The rear defogger turns on and off with simple clicks. But no matter how many times I click the front defogger, the LED stays on.
I assumed this was a vehicle defect but I started reading the user's manual and there are a few confusing pages about the defogger. There seems to be some permutation of turning on the AC/heat while pressing the button to turn it off? Is this a defect or can someone explain to me in plain English how to turn off that front defogger LED?
Thanks,
Michael

First, do you have the manual or automatic HVAC system? And if you have the manual system, which of the two do you have (see below)?
Lastly, which button/light are you trying to turn off? The #1 button or the 4th button listed as #2 (just above the #5 button)?

Okay. Due to Hyundai's design, the buttons are slightly confusing.
Button #1 is not a toggle on/off button like #3. It is a selector button like the four #2 buttons. Button #1 (and button #4) should be included with the four #2 buttons. Basically only one of those 6 buttons can be on at one time. You turn one off by selecting another.
So, in your example, to turn off #1, you don't press it again, you press one of the #2 buttons (or the #4 button).
