Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default 2017 Elantra dash display?

2017 Elantra SE. Noticed it today but never really paid attention when driving but I see this symbol lit up next to the P or D on the dash display. Normal?

That is from the Owners Manual. Doesn't say why it would be illuminated.
This mode displays information related to driving such as tripmeter, fuel economy, etc. For more information, refer to "Trip Computer" in this chapter. The trip computer is a microcomputer-controlled driver information system that displays information related to driving.

Usually in the front of the manual, there is a dash display with the icons and what they mean, did you get a chance to check there?

Not to sound like a smart *** but did you read my response above? That's literally from the Owners Manual including the icon screenshot from the manual.

What I'm asking is when you look at your Instrument Cluster is yours also lit up?

I read your reply and understand what you stated, however , don't have a copy of your owner's manual handy to check. I have found in most vehicle owner's manuals there is a description of each icon and what they signify and not necessarily what causes the light to illuminate.

What you read below is from the Owners Manual. Doesn't say why it would be illuminated.

That's all the info it gives.

Check for yourself.

I did attempt to determine what that icon signified and some clarification was found on pages, 4-84 and 4-86 . Evidently it is a "mode " available to use in the trip computer set up. Probably a low fuel warning when trip info is entered and the trip is not complete because you might run out of fuel. That is the best I can offer . not that familiar with that system , but would love to experiment with all it's features if I had one available to play with.
What happens if you clear all entered past info and started all over again? Thanks for the site.
You would probably get better answers if you checked with a Hyundai sales rep, they get vehicles to use as demos and if they don't know should at least be able to get you a satisfactory answer.

I reset it every fill up and I’ve never allowed the gas to get low enough to have the low fuel light come on.
