apparent fuel delivery problem
Every now and then when I attempt to start my 2000 Elantra stationwagon the engine just cranks and cranks and cranks. A couple months back when it first started happening, I pumped the gas pedal furiously and it did start, and maybe once or twice since that I was able to get it started by pumping the pdeal, but most of the time I just pull the big rubber hose off the intake plenum, open the butterfly flap, squirt in some starting fluid and it will start. This is starting to happen now about once, sometimes twice a week. I'm thinking fuel pump, but there isn't the usual pump problems I have experienced in the past (mechanical, non fuel injected vehicles) where there are symptoms of impending doom presented going up hills and such.
