Bike rack 21 Elantra
Hi,
I just got a 21 elantra. Im looking for a hitch bike rack.( I have a trunk mount bike rack but with this elantra the straps will be hooked between the trunk lid and the rear window. im afraid that would eventually break the glass) , so I am looking for a hitch based rack. all models that I found so far require drilling, etc and I would really like to avoid that. does anyone know of a hitch that is made to fit so I could install myself ( or without drilling/welding car frame)? I tried the dealership- they say Hyundai does not have any for elantras.
Thank you

I also have a trunk mount bike rack, and 2021 elantra, and the hooks of the bike rack don't bother the glass of the rear window, but do you think that plastic piece at the top of the trunk is ok for the hooks? I know they also hit the metal underneath but I just don't want that plastic piece popping off the the bike goes flying...

So Disappointed
So, after thinking about it, i decided to take it to U-haul to install a hitch. Per the u-haul online catalog it should work just fine. I paid ahead and brought the car in. 238 dollars later, I get a call from the U-haul guys saying they after taking off the rear bumper and prepping for the hitch they actually cant do the install as they do not know how to take off the rear lights without breaking it.
FYI, watch out . It seems like this car was not meant for a rear hitch after all. I will get rid of mine as soon as I can.

I’d imagine someone makes a 1.25” hitch for a bike rack for my cars…hitches aren’t generally hard to install or costly, especially when wiring isn’t necessary and the 1.25 isn’t as unsightly as the more standard 2”. It just takes a bit more time to find a 1.25 bike rack hitch for mine and kids' bikes and there’s less “quality” options. I know a guy who makes a pretty cheap one that, while not highend, it’s built well enough.
