Buying 2002 Hyundai Elantra gls with 129k miles on it
I'm thinking of purchasing a 2002 Hyundai Elantra gls 5 spped with 129 k miles on it. What are some things I should be looking out for on these cars?
Also, I plan to change the timing belt as the owner does not have records indicating it was changed at 120K. The car runs well other than some front end shake (will have a mechanic check it out but feels like tire balance to me) and it idles hi (check engine light is on - probably a throttle sensor?).
Also, when doing the timing belt, what else should be done while it is apart?
Thanks!

Yeah, do the timing belt if you are unsure if it was done. While you are at it, have them replace the water pump at the same time. If the check engine light is on then there is a code stored in the computer. Have the computer read and find out exactly what is wrong before guessing.
Take car of it and it should be a good car for you. Best of luck with it!
