Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Question Chain dragging sound

BODY { MARGIN: 8px } .LW-yrriRe { FONT: x-small arial I have a 2003 Elentra GLS it has about 98300. Been a great little car love it to death...however, I have been having some issues and I am concerned something important may be failing. I would really like this car to last a year or 2 more until I finish college. I do drive a lot though.

OK back to the problem. About 2 weeks ago I started getting noises like rubber to rubber grinding/squeaking when turning the wheel to the right (noise is on driver side) but it only made that noise when the car was cold (as in hasn't been driven in 6+ hours). I had a friend's husband look at it and the wheel bearing was shot...though CV joints and rubber housing where fine. So he skipped out and never changed it...So I already had the part and took it to Midas and they installed it for me no big. However, that still did not stop the sound. Now a week later after it being changed I was driving home tonight and got off the freeway and noticed that when I was in the lower RPMs and less than 45 MPH that it sounded like a metal chain was dragging on the front drivers side by the wheel. It was dark so I haven't gotten a good look...just to check under the car to make sure I wasn't really dragging anything.

If anyone has had this problem or knows what it may be I would really appreciate a post!

I am possibly thinking of getting another Hyundai after the new year but it will be something with 50,000 miles on it for a 2-3 grand to get me through the next 2 years or is it possible for my car to make it?

BTW brakes where changed and new rotors put on less than a year ago.

Thanks!

Nikki
