Default Crack in '05 Bumper Cover

I've recently ran into a problem where I've cracked the front bumper of a Hyundai Elantra...

There's two cracks, neither extend more than two inches, but I've got to either replace it or repair it...

I haven't got a price on the replacement yet, but I've been told it'll hit the wallet pretty hard so I'm hoping to repair it.

Are my hopes too high about repairing it? If I have to replace it, anyone know the price?

Thanks

Well there are some body shops that have a special tool that "welds" plastic. If the rest of the bumper is decent you may be able to find a shop that can repair it. Why is it that you are trying to repair or replace it? Bumpers are meant to take a beating, that's their job!

I bought some two-part epoxy from Big Lots thinking it was a general purpose epoxy. Turns out there was a fabric type material inside and instructions for repairing (are you ready?) a plastic bumper!!! It's called Epoxy Repair Kit made by Motomaster ($6.00). I just used it to repair a broken lid on a heavy duty trash container, it's good stuff. After the repair (unless you do it only on the inside surface), you have to sand smooth and repaint.
Hope this helps

It's decoration.... invest the money into something that will appreciate, like a house payment.. no safety issue with cracked bumper cover, unless it is so severe the cover is hanging off and going to cause road hazard.

I bought a front bumper cover for my sons 04 for $120. A little paint and clear, looks great. Don't be afraid to tackle the job yourself. It's just a bunch of bolts holding it on.

The bumper cover will be about $180 and you will need to get it painted, another $150 to $200. A body shop might be able to patch that but I am not sure how much it'll cost you. Good luck on that.
