Can you better describe what is happening? You didn't give use much to work with.

Do you rest your foot on the break pedal?

There isn't really much more to tell. While I am driving I turn on my cruise control button, get to my desired speed and hit the set button, take my foot off the gas. Sometimes it sticks with the speed and other times it decelerates. I have tried to pin down when it works and when it doesn't (i.e. when the car is cold or warmed up) and it doesn't make any difference. My car is not under warranty anymore so I don't want to take it to the dealer because I feel like they take advantage of me. Any help?

I suggest sign up on hmaservice.com and follow their troubleshooting steps for cruise control. Also try posting on ElantraClub.com assuming you have an Elantra GT. They have more Elantra experience there.

The only thing I would check is the brake light switch. Have you noticed problems with the brake lights? The same switch that operates the brake lights turn off the cruise control.
