Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Declining gas mileage

We have a new 2023 Elantra Hybrid. We got the car in August it got great gas mileage 48-50 MPG. It’s been steadily decreasing in the last few months, the cumulative is down to 41.6. On a daily basis, even in excellent driving conditions, averaging 50MPH with few lights I. Lucky to get 40MPG. Hyundai doesn’t see a problem. Anyone else have this problem?

Many things can affect gas mileage among them is;

Outside temp, tire pressure , how much stuff is in the trunk, driver habits and don't forget there is a difference between winter fuel and summer fuel.

It might be a good idea to keep tract all winter and watch what happens once warmer weather comes around.

The car has a feature that gives you daily MPG, next week here in downstate NY, it’s supposed to be mid to upper fifty’s I’ll see if we have any improvement.
thanks for the advice

Same here - 2023 Elantra hybrid, bought it in November, started getting approx. 50mpg and now down to approx. 40mpg. I have heard that ambient temperature affects hybrids pretty significantly, so I'll wait until the spring to see what happens.

If you are near the coast it is somewhat warmer, but if you are closer to the western part, it can be somewhat cooler there. Middlesex, Mercer or Monmouth county ?

Temperatures are up in the 50's now, and gas mileage is back to approx. 51 mpg.
