Elantra 2010 - Tail light plastic assembly replacement
Hello friends!
I am new on this forum, new in US, new in English, also recent Hyundai Elantra 2010 owner. ) But hope we can understand each other.
Yesterday my wife met the mailbox by her car. She broke the left tail lamp unit (case) on the driver side. Red plastic lamp case was completely broken, but all lamps work well and there is no any dimentional damage on the body around, except a lot of heavy scratches.
So, it looks like I need just replace the tail light unit, which can be ordered online. Does anybody have an experience with such replacement or can help me with step-by-step instruction how to do that? Where are the fasteners located, do I need any special tools, etc?
Seems to me - I might try to do it by myself before visiting the dealership.
Thanks in advance.

Which part? The half on the quarter panel or the part on the trunk lid?
I'm going to assume it's the half on the quarter panel. Basically you open teh trunk and pull back the trunk lining where the lights are. There are 3 bolts to be removed and the housing will then slide off the body.
Don't forget to disconnect the wiring harness.
