Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Engine running "choppy" one week after purchase

Yes, exactly one week after the purchase of my brand new Elantra 2009 the engine started to run "choppy" or "jumpy" or whatever you might call it today. This is especially obvious when moving at minimum speed, the car motion is "jupmy" as if the engine was going to stall any moment.
Do you guys have any clue what this might be. I will take it for a drive tomorrow moring to see if it's still doing it and take it to service right away.
This should not be happening with a car this young IMO.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It's under warranty, so don't sweat too much. Something is obviously wrong. Could be a lot of things.

I started the car this morning and it was still doing it. The engine was idling at about 1500 RPM. Then I went to a grocery store and when I started my engine again it is now working fine. It is idling at less than 1000 RPM, maybe at 700 RPM.
All seems fine now.
Maybe it was just the computer fine tuning itself to the performance I need. Is this normal for such a new car?
I hope this problem does not return.

No, it's not normal. Yes, it will probably return.

What should I do then? Call the dealer service and ask them or should I wait until the problem returns?
I doubt the service would do anything if the car is working fine now...

Wait until you have a problem and take it to the dealer.
