I have the same exact thing happening on my 2007 Elantra. Have had car to friends, dealership, Precision Tune. First I had the inner tie rod ends replaced. No luck. PT wouldn't do alignment - said tie rods bad (just had replaced). Took to dealership for other issue and they checked the whole car over. Of course said I needed roughly $3k in repairs, but the thing that stuck out was they said I needed a rack & pinion. Happened to be calling around for prices for the rack & pinion, talked to someone who referred me to Merchant's to see if they could even align my car (had 4 new tires put on right after tie rods replaced, but hadn't had alignment done yet, so figured that was the whole cause of my tires wearing like they were) Manager asked if car had been in an accident. I'm the original owner and no accidents here. Asked if I remember hitting any bad potholes. Yes, I have. My car is in a body shop to have the engine cradle checked for shifting. Will know more later today.

Have the same thing going on with my 2011 Elantra Touring. Left front tire still wears on the inside after having it aligned 3k miles ago. 25k miles on the car. Bringing it back to the dealer to see what kind of song and dance I'll get. Seems to be a common issue with Hyundai cars over the years. This is usually a camber problem and camber isn't adjustable on a lot of these cars, so to me, getting constant alignments aint gonna do the trick.

I too have an 09 elantra and we noticed the wear on our perfprmance tires and then agqin this year or our winters. Our new summers seem to be fine so far but we had also taken it in for an alignment wondering why tje tires seemed slanted on the back. The dealer of course did not cover it and told us we were carrying too much stuff in our trunk therefore causing the back end to sag onto the tires. I have only a small sub in the back which os easy to lift. The dealer here however suggested we buy.a universal lift for our.springs to keep them from collapsing thus wearing our tires more. Its been fine simce weve done that. Maybe give that a try? I think it cost about 40 dollars for the parts

I've got an 06 Azera that has wiped out the tires after 15K miles.. Ha them rotated last week and looked over the suspension.. It seems that the front upper control arm bushings have failed.. Most places want you to replace the control arms and don't even list the bushings.. Still, there is no adjustment for camber at all..

Default 22 Elantra NLine tire wear

Same problem with both of my 22’s. Outside edge wear on both. Bought both brand new. One has 18k and the other has 35k. Tire tread with belts showing on the outside edge. More on the 18k than the 35k.

Usually, too much positive camber will cause the tires to wear on the outside.
If there is feather edge on the tire, toe in needs to be checked.
Of course,,, if you drive hard and fast on curves that will do it too.

Almost everything these days comes with no camber or caster adjustment available from the factory on the front.. I put adjustable upper ball joints in my 06 Azera and aligned to specs.
