Installing on Elantra 2009 -Cross-Member (55410-2H100)
Hi I am in problem with rear control arm that fall of rear Cross member that was badly rotten due to Canadian salt on the road . So now I do have to replace Cross-Member (55410-2H100). I took to the repair guy who does my repairs regularly but he is reluctant to repair due to bolts that could be stuck in the frame. Please help me with any advice you might have about issue. How much should they charge me for replacement. Should I replace at all or car is done?
Problematic issue is item number 17.

When I discovered the rust on my 2001 Elantra cross member, I looked into replacement.
First tried loosening the bolts with an impact wrench. No go.
I believe that if I used more force then the bolt heads would break off due to the rust.
That just opens another big can of worms.
I had spent a lot of money trying to keep this thing alive and drive-able.
Most of the work I did myself.
What a waste. Got rid of the rust bucket.
Nothing more I could do.
I have no advice on what to do next.
Only that I wish you luck in whatever you decide.

It would be foolish to offer any type repair suggestion without actually looking at the condition of the underside of your vehicle.
Check with a few shops that do body work and get a better idea after they look over the vehicle. Some shops can do "Miracles", again, depending on what they have to work with.

Same issue - '03 Elantra
I have the same issue with my '03 Elantra. I also am curious as to if I could replace the cross-member subframe, along with any trailing/control arms that are rusted out.
Check out my thread for my 2003 Hyundai Elantra with a Rear Suspension Cross-member K-Subframe that is rusted in half!
