Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Muffler replacement

For about a month now, my 2003 Elantra has been very loud. At first I did not think anything about, but others noticed and told me that the car used to be very quiet. I suspect that rust may have corrodded the muffler system, as I live in a very wintry area with a lot of road salt in use.

Something tells me that rusty mufflers are NOT covered under the warranty. Am I right?

Mufflers are not listed under the wear items not covered by the 5 year/60,000 miles bumper to bumper warrenty. I'd call the dealer or contact Hyundai to find out.
