Default 2001 ACCENT--- different repair procedure

TSB says to ohm test the output speed sensor, over 275 ohm, replace the sensor, and reprogram the TCM with #18 -- "LC AT VSS NOISE IMPROVEMENT"..

Resistance value: 215-275 ohm (at 20°C or 68°F)

Do # 18, then chase it with #30 for shudder from p - r - d

TCM REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE:

While you is still connected, add #52 for Ox logic, #84 for thermostat diagnostic logic..

Hi-Scan is the old way, GDS is the new way, it'll prompt tech to what connectors to use..

What are the odds that my local mechanic is going to be able to do that? and if not what would it cost (ballpark) to have it done at a dealership? Ive already replaced the sensor.

Question More help please

I started working on this car over a year ago. Just a few days after fixing the Shaft Speed Sensor I had troubles again. I never really got the car working again. Now I need to get it fixed or get rid of it. It has been sitting for a year. I added water to the radiator, checked the oil and replaced the battery. I get the check engine light right after I start to drive it. I do not get any codes when I hook up the tool to check the codes. When I go to take off, the car sputters a bit before it goes. It seems that once it gets into second gear it is fine. The problem comes when you come to a stop. It seems that unless you wait for a couple of seconds, the car does not go into first gear and takes off in second. This is where the sputtering comes in. The car will sometimes also have a hard time idling. I think that it is because it is still in second gear but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Talking Please help

I still can not get the car to shift in first gear. Do I need to take it to Hyundai to reset the TCM or is my next step to replace the speed sensor?
I am so lost now.
Thanks,
WMM
