Default transmission prob

Hi,

I have had a problem where my car shifts into 3rd, sometimes when I'm stopped, sometimes when I'm going slow, the worst times are when I'm on the highway going 70 and the car bucks so violently as it downshifts.

The first time I brought it in ('07, 56,000 miles-still under warrenty) they couldn't figure out what was wrong. The next time i bring it in they keep it for a week and install a solenoid valve. started doing it again 2 days later then again 5 days after that. Now I have to bring it in again.

I have read someone in this forum saying the same thing and saying it was a speed sensor.

Is this what it is? If so why can't these dealer mechanics, get it right, especially if there is a computer spitting out info from check engine?

Thanks---gm

They need to be looking in the TCM for trans controller codes, wont find codes in the "check engine"..

Sounds like you need to find another dealer who knows how to deal with trans concerns that can provide documentation to where the problem circuit/ area is...

What was the reason for the solenoid,,, should be same day job if part was in stock.. what does the invoice from that visit say.. word for word,,, no rough interpretations or guessing.

Concern - Customer states ........

Cause - what the problems found

Repair - what they did as repair attempt

We have to have this in correct format to get a warranty claim paid, and same format is used to document visit for repair..

They say it takes time to figure out what was wrong and for the part to get here. Don't have order with me. It's in the car.

This is the dealership I bought it from and have done all my oil changes and required check-ups. There is one other dealer in town. Should I go to them-since it'll be the 3rd time with this problem? Do I need to get anything from my dealer, or can all dealers get into same data bank?
